Come Over from Out That Sadness

If vou have the ear of a president

or prime minister, you might be able

to shape policy that affects the entire

nation.

If you have the ear of the Pope, you might

have a hand in shaping the next papal bull.

If you have the ear of a general, you might

avert a war. If you have the ear of an

editor, you might get your name in print.

If you have the ear of the head waiter, you

might get the best table. And so on and so on.

So whose ear have you got? What influence

do you have and what change can you effect by

using that influence? Often the only

ear we have is our own.

The only definite influence we have is over

ourselves. The only thing we can really, really

change is exactly that - ourselves.

Wonderful. What an opportunity to do some good.

What a chance to make a real contribution.

Begin with ourselves and let it spread outwards.

This way we don't have to waste time

preaching to those who won't listen.

We don't have to waste effort or energy or

resources on things over which we have

no control and no certainty of any success.

By changing ourselves though we can be

assured of a result. Result and let that

Manifest.

Golden Age Basketball

As of December 30, 2025,
The Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons are
heading in opposite directions, though both
Have been major talking points in the
Eastern Conference this season.

The Detroit Pistons have been the biggest
surprise of the 2025–26 season, currently sitting
at the #1 seed in the East. Meanwhile, the Chicago
Bulls are fighting to stabilize their position
in the Play-In tournament bracket.

🏎️ Detroit Pistons: The East's New Leaders
Detroit has transformed from a rebuilding
squad into a legitimate powerhouse.
They currently hold the best record in the
Eastern Conference at 24–8.

Top of the Table:

They are leading the New York Knicks
and Boston Celtics, thriving on a consistent
rotation and an elite defense.

Star Performance:
Cade Cunningham has entered the
MVP conversation, while Jalen Duren has
become one of the league's premier interior forces.

Current Status:
Tonight (Dec 30), they are in Los Angeles to face
the Lakers on LeBron James' 41st birthday.

They enter the game as 2.5-point favorites.
Next Matchup vs. Bulls:

The Pistons will host the Bulls on
January 7, 2026, at Little Caesars Arena.
🐂 Chicago Bulls: The "Bounce Back" Push
The Bulls have had a volatile season.
After a mid-season slump that included
7 consecutive losses, they recently went
on a 5-game winning streak to climb back
into the top 10.

Current Standing:
They are 9th in the East with a record of 15–17.
Key Players: * Coby White: Leading the team in
scoring (21.4 PPG).
Josh Giddey: Emerging as a triple-double threat;
recently averaging 13 assists over a three-game stretch.

Recent Results:
They suffered a tough 112–103 loss to the
Milwaukee Bucks on December 28, following the
return of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Health Advantage:
Unlike many teams decimated
by the "2025 injury bug," the Bulls are relatively
healthy, with only rookie Noa Essengue; currently
out (G-League assignment).
